In simple terms, we have two types of electroplating: vacuum atmosphere plating and metal plating (water plating).
Vacuum plating is a method of heating a metal under high vacuum conditions to melt and evaporate it, and then form a metal film on the surface of the plastic after cooling.
Water plating is the process of depositing metal or alloy on the surface of the workpiece by means of electrolysis to form a uniform, dense, and well-bonded metal layer, which is called water plating. Simple understanding is the change or combination of physical and chemical.
Vacuum plating and water plating are generally applicable in a wide range, such as ABS material, ABS + PC material, PC material products, etc.
In general, we use vacuum plating, the first reason is that vacuum plating is pollution-free, and the price is cheaper than water plating, and the production efficiency is high. But at the same time, vacuum plating does not make UV oil after electroplating, and its adhesion is relatively poor compared to water plating. Can be rich in color selection
Water electroplating generally makes UV oil after electroplating, so the appearance and well- resistance of water electroplating are better, but it has high price and high pollution, the cost is much higher than vacuum electroplating, and the color of water electroplating is monotonous, generally only sub-silver , Gray silver, gun color, gold, black chrome, semi-gloss chrome and other seven colorful colors can't help it.
In summary, electroplating is the preferred process for many of our customers, especially many of us in the Middle East, because it makes your bottles look more textured, which is more visually advanced than other bottles that are not electroplated.
